We're A Joy Division...but why ?

Fri Jul 18, 2008, 12:44 PM

Hello we're A Joy Division. Wiwiana my wife, unique model and I we want to say thanks so much to everybody, all the Dev Watchers (you're 99 at the moment !) and to the hundreds of visitors. Thanks for all the very nice and interesting comments on our works !

We opened this gallery in May 13th 2008, two months ago and we've reached nearly 8300 pageviews (750 since yesterday night !). My wife and I are working hard and we'll continue to show the very best of our photo-sessions on this page. Every picture is a creation and collaboration together and for myself a way to say: "I love you" to my Woman, not to share a part of our intimacy with anybody else. We're both Artists working on different creative projects, I'm reworking on the best pictures I'm taking of her, then I'm showing to Wiwiana the result of my work. If it's ok, if she likes it, I submit the picture on this page. Things are working like this.

Several visitors asked me questions to know if I'm a fan of the U.K band: "Joy Division" and I answered this:

"I'm mad about music (Pop, Rock, Indies, Electro) I like very much the band:"Joy Division" even if I prefer "New Order" a lot more. I love the name, the sound and the different possible meanings of: "Joy Division". Well Cold wave can sometimes be sensual. I called this page: "A Joy Division" because: "Joy Division" was already taken at D.A and because I like the sound and meaning with a:"A" before...a Kind of...a sensual personal web Factory, a W.O.M.A.D collaborative art love project as I use to say. Well also basically to stay anonymous !"

My favorites: Joy Division's songs are "Wilderness", "Disorder", "She's lost control" and the beautiful:"Love Will Tear us Apart".

But my favorite band ever is called: The Smiths

P.S: I wanted to say thank you once again to ^Helewidis @: [link] for the feature as a D.D on my picture:"In a room" (see on the Top page) received on 2008-06-24

  • Listening to: Joy Division, New Order and her voice
  • Reading: Love in her eyes
  • Watching: W
  • Playing: Secret

I love this band ! they're like a part of me since a very long time ! their music, lyrics and covers are a kind of absolute perfection for me !

I wanted to call this web page: The Smiths but it means nothing connected with art & photography ! Joy Division is so extremely cold that it's becoming sensual, romantic...

Have a very good week end ! :-)

great taste in music! have you seen any films about joy division? there's 'Control' and '24 Hour Party People' slightly. There's a good few documentries around at the moment too. something pissed me off the other day though, i saw a belt with 'Love will tear us apart' written on it. Ian Curtis must be rolling in his grave. (Which got stolen the other week) What is the world coming to? c*nts.
:icona-joy-division:
Thanks a lot Benmk ! I've seen '24 Hour Party People' and it was quite good ! I want to see 'Control', the actor playing Ian Curtis looks to play very well and very near from what was the singer. I like Anton Corbijn's very much he's one of my favourite photographer !
I'm not sure that any Joy Division's fan will buy this belt ! ;-) I've heard about Curtis' grave, that's a real shame ! same thing happened to the Jim Morrisson's grave at the Père Lachaise in Paris !

yeah it's a great film to watch (control that is). i've not seen much of corbijn's photography, i'll have to check some out. yeah sam riley is the guy who plays ian curtis. and yes it is done very well, he sings all the songs too which is good to see.
:icona-joy-division:
Corbijn created the cover of the U2 album:"The unforgettable fire" for example. His website is @: [link]

About this kind of homage/biographic movies I generally be careful, I prefer to keep the mystery, the band's image I've got in my head listening to their music and watching the videos...I can't imagine a movie about: The Smiths without Morrissey and Johnny Marr !

yeah i can understand that. you have great taste in music by the way. have you heard any of the new modest mouse album? johnny marr worked on it and you can really tell. great riffs.
:icona-joy-division:
Thanks ! I listened to this album and I don't like it at all. It's cool to discover him singing and he's one of the best British Pop guitarist & composer ever but this record is very disappointing. I prefer 10.000 times his collaboration with Bernard Sumner (New Order) for the project:"Electronic"
